Mendocino Eco Artists (MEA) is an organization of artists who have the common goal of applying their talents to help conserve and restore the natural environment of our area.
The mission of MEA is to form partnerships with local environmental groups, and through joint projects, to use the members' art to help raise public awareness of the threats to the ecological balance, and to raise funds to support their projects.
Mendocino Eco Artists is joining a new movement in the arts toward pro-active goals. This effort continues today in an even more pro-active way. Groups of artists are supporting efforts by environmental groups to preserve and restore what is left of the natural world of California. The BayWood Artists in Marin County, the Oak Group of Santa Barbara County, and other regional art groups have formed partnerships with environmental protection organizations to protect open space, woodland habitats, agricultural spaces, desert habitats and more.
To paraphrase Dennis Power, former Director of the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History and of the Oakland Museum, artists have become conservationists by depicting in a heartfelt way what we may be in danger of losing.

RECEPTION on Saturday June 9 from 3:30-5:305 p.m. An exciting art event with 30% of sales going to support the Mendocino Land Trust.
